6. Marketing

We use Google Advertising (such as retargeting with Google Analytics, Google Display Network impression reporting, DoubleClick Campaign Manager integration, and Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting) to (1) show you ads on other websites based on your previous visits to Schlaflabor Zürich AG pages, and (2) better understand our ad impressions and the use of advertising services. In connection with the Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting service, we may combine data from Google’s interest-based advertising or third-party audience data (such as age, gender, and interests) with Google Analytics to improve our marketing campaigns and website content.

Some of our online advertising is carried out through Google Display Advertising. As part of this program, we use Google Analytics features such as retargeting. In connection with this feature and other services from advertising networks, we and the operators of advertising networks, including Google, may use third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) — and in some cases first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) — to inform, optimize, and deliver ads on the internet based on a user’s previous visits to Schlaflabor Zürich AG pages.

8. Cookies

What are cookies?

We also collect information about your use of the Schlaflabor Zürich AG websites using technologies such as cookies. A “cookie” is a small text file transferred to your computer to track your interests and preferences and to recognize you as a returning visitor. This technology helps store your preferences and allows us to provide you with content and features that may be of interest to you.

How do we use cookies?

  • Functional cookies: These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the website and ensure that you can use the services you have requested. They allow us to recognize you on your next visit and to store your preferences and settings, such as your language selection or the region you are in. By storing these preferences, functional cookies personalize your experience and make your visits more convenient and individual.
  • Performance cookies: Performance cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our website, allowing us to understand and analyze website traffic and usage patterns. These cookies help us count visits and traffic sources in order to measure and improve the performance of our website. By analyzing which pages are most and least visited, as well as how visitors navigate the website, we can optimize our content and website structure to increase user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Marketing cookies: These cookies may be set on our website by our advertising partners. They may be used by their advertising tools to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on other websites. These cookies do not store directly identifiable personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. Cookies may be sent outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including to the USA, Canada, Singapore, and Taiwan. Some of these countries may not offer the same level of data protection as the EEA. If you do not allow these cookies, you will see less targeted advertising.
  • Third-party cookies: Our website includes features and content from third parties, including but not limited to Google Maps, Google Fonts, Vimeo, and embedded tools such as ScoreApp (Privacy Policy), which may set their own cookies on your device. These third-party cookies are used to provide specific features and services, such as interactive maps and custom fonts, that enhance your user experience. For example, if you interact with an embedded Google Map on our website, Google may set cookies to store your preferences and track usage statistics. These cookies may collect information about your browsing activity across different websites and over time, which third parties may use to understand user behavior and improve their services.

9. How do you manage cookies?

You have the option to manage or decline cookies at any time by adjusting your preferences via our Consent Management Platform (CMP) on our website. The CMP can be reopened at any time by clicking the icon in the bottom left corner of the website, allowing you to change your cookie settings as you wish. This platform provides detailed information about the types of cookies we use and allows you to accept or decline them. You therefore have full control over your personal data and your browsing experience.

Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality and performance of our website. For example, essential features that rely on cookies may not function properly if cookies are declined. This could limit your ability to use certain parts of our website effectively, or prevent you from accessing certain features. Understanding how cookies enhance your experience will help you make informed decisions about your cookie preferences.
